<p>the witches would meet there each beltane (may eve),<br>
to dance 'round the fire, make merry, conceive.</p>
<p>the magic they summoned would push back the snow,<br>
and bring a new spring to their friends (and their foes).</p>
<p>as centuries passed and the new lands were found,<br>
the witches dispersed to take root in new ground.</p>
<p>today there are new witches dancing again,<br>
there's a future to make (and some old wars to end).</p>
